Interpreting Triangular Symbolism

Triangular symbolism was used at the America’s Stonehenge site as well at other Ceremonial Stone Landscape (CSL) sites in New England. I have theorized that the triangles were used to block specific spirits from entering a ceremonial area or feature. Only certain spirits that were invited into a ceremonial or were allowed to use a ceremonial feature like a split stone spirit portal could pass by the triangular symbolism. All other spirits both good and bad who were not invited were blocked by the triangles. How did I deduct this cultural belief? To answer this question, I turned to the ceremonial stone structures themselves for evidence what their beliefs were. The following explanation accompanies the illustration below:

At the beginning there is a ravine (#1 on illustration) with a split stone with stones inside, a spring and seasonal runoff stream. These features were the sources of the three spirits: Rain Water Spirit, Spring Water Spirit and Underworld Spirit. All three spirits are documented in historical accounts.

The spirits joined the people as they walked up to the main site. In route they passed through a split stone with stones on top. (#2 on illustration) The people walked through while the spirits were each given their own portals. There are three pairs of stones: two stones with an opening in between. From there they continued up hill where they passed split bedrock with three triangles leaning against it. (#3 on illustration) Continuing up hill they passed by the Winter Solstice sunset alignment stone. (#4 on illustration)

When the sun sets behind the alignment it appears to go into the split bedrock with the three triangular stones (#3). The Sun Spirit used the split stone portal to enter Underworld for the winter months. Another documented fact.

That lead to my theory the triangles blocked the three spirits coming into the site from entering a portal designated for Sun Spirit on the winter solstice.  All are good or benevolent spirits. The triangles blocked out spirits who were not suppose to use that particular spirit portal while at the same time allowed the Sun Spirit to use the portal.
